Trailfinders Photography Competition: I’m A Finalist!

So as you might already know, I work for one of the biggest – and best, obviously ;) – travel companies in the UK and every year for the past few years they’ve held an in-house Travel Photography competition. Having worked there just over 14 months, this year was my first chance to enter…so I thought I’d give it a go!

I waited till the very last deadline date to enter, as it fell just a week after I returned home from my trip to Cuba – perfect timing giving me a chance to get back and edit some of my snaps from the trip! After getting back and having time to properly look at all my snaps, along with a few other favourites taken throughout my travels over the years, I was particularly happy with this shot. It’s a typical scene in Havana – an elderly lady sitting out in the street-side in the hot Cuban afternoon sun, a cigar permanently propped in her mouth. It was actually one of the very last photos I took, as we strolled through the buzzing streets of Havana for the last time just minutes before hopping into one of the iconic classic cars back to the airport…and I’m so glad I managed to capture this scene with both my eye and my camera!

I am chuffed to say that I have been selected as one of this year’s finalists and my photo will be on display at the Royal Geographical Society’s Photography Exhibition over the next few weeks (24 April – 17 May) before the final winner is announced…

If you are London based and would like to attend, here is the link
