A run down south –> north of the beautiful beaches on Australia’s east coast Advertisements
The Gilis, a group of 3 small islands just off Bali, are a tiny piece of paradise. Whether you’re heading there for a few days relaxation after partying in Kuta or Seminyak on mainland Bali, or just after a peaceful getaway, you are guaranteed to forget about whatever it is you came to forget, as the hustle and bustle of real life escapes you.
As one of the most beautiful countries in the world, Thailand has plenty to offer you as a tourist or a traveller. Whether you’re off on a relaxing beach holiday or more of an adventure seeker, you are guaranteed to find activities to suit you!
Uluwatu The main places to stay in Bali are Kuta or Seminyak – before I went, everyone would ask me if I was staying in Kuta or Seminyak…but I actually didn’t stay in either of those! As I’d heard that they are fast becoming more and more touristy and full of drunk rowdy foreigners (mainly Australians!!), we decided to stay a bit further out in Uluwatu in the south of the island.
Bangkok It is one of the most interesting cities I’ve ever visited, but it is also smelly, dirty, loud and hectic, and you’ll probably have had enough of it after a few days of being hounded by street merchants and fighting your way through the crowds on Khao San Road. But Bangkok is definitely a great way to start a trip in Southeast Asia!
Whatever anyone tells you before you go, there are just some things you will only ever learn (and might not want to experience again!) from travelling around Asia yourself…
